Gail Miles uses a variety of beautiful finishing techniques on her porcelain and stoneware pottery. Beautiful, earthy, rough, textured, matte clay is enhanced by the contrast of a soft luxurious jewel-toned glaze. This thrown cork jar features a hazy, royal blue background with pale blue silhouettes of birds amongst foliage. Dark speckles in the warm gray clay body show through the surface treatment, and the inside is finished with a glossy teal glaze. The corked jar measures about 5" in height and 3.5" in width.
