Insect Vessel By Terri Scheid
Terri Scheid's works are formed by pinch, coil, and slab construction. Layered underglazes are accented, complicated, and expanded by sgraffito into the clay. Once fired, the pieces are wet sanded to reveal the multiple layers of color, then sometimes drawn onto, and then fired again with clear glaze. Her work is primordial, vibrant, and ocassionally gravity-defying. This vessel features a stunning sunset gradiant, and measures 10" in height and about 3" in diameter at its opening.
