Large Earthenware Rust Vessel By Terri Scheid
Terri Scheid's works are formed by pinch, coil, and slab construction. Layered underglazes are accented, complicated, and expanded by sgraffito into the clay. Once fired, the pieces are wet sanded to reveal the multiple layers of color, then sometimes drawn onto, and then fired again with clear glaze. Her work is primordial, vibrant, and ocassionally gravity-defying. This vessel features a stunning rusty gradiant, asymmetrical, organic shape, and measures 9.5" in height.
