Life Is Like by Julie Beltrán

Constructed from crepe paper, cardboard, and hot glue, Julie Beltrán's work challenges the traditional expectation of piñatas as objects meant to be destroyed. Instead, these pieces are created to be displayed, inviting viewers to reconsider piñatas as sculptural works rather than disposable artifacts. This heart-shaped piñata is inspired by a classic box of chocolates. Made by hand using cardboard, hot glue, and layered crepe paper, the pieces highlights bright color, texture and thoughtful craftsmanship.
