Mushroom Medley Glass Plate by Margaret Dorfman

Margaret Dorfman's unique art form consists of layering paper thin slices of vegetables and fruits into what she calls "vegetable parchments." She then uses these parchments to create delicately luminous sculptures and jewelry.

This recycled glass dish is layered with a medley of different mushrooms, then finished with a low-fire glass enamel. Because the layer of glass used is incredibly thin, this plate is not suitable for hot foods, and needs hand washing without soaking it. This plate measures 10" in diameter.
