Patterned Mug in Blue By Gail Miles

Gail Miles uses a variety of beautiful finishing techniques on her porcelain and stoneware pottery. Beautiful, earthy, rough, textured, matte clay is enhanced by the contrast of a soft luxurious jewel-toned glaze. This thrown mug features a warm gray exterior largely covered with rich midnight blue and black repeated pattern of four conjoined leaves. The finish of the exterior is rough with a slight sheen, while the interior is warm gray and has a glossy finish. Dark speckles in the light brown clay body occasionally show through the surface treatment. The mug measures a bit under 3.5" in height and about 3" in diameter.
